Spicy Honey Chicken – The Girl Who Didn’t Eat Everything?







Spicy Honey Chicken


Ingredients
  • 8 boneless skinless chicken thighs, about 2lbs (you could use breasts as well but thighs stay more moist)
  • 2 teaspoons vegetable oil
  • Rub:
  • 2 teaspoons granulated garlic (you can sub 1 teaspoon garlic powder here)
  • 2 teaspoons chili powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon coriander
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • 1/2 teaspoon chipotle chili powder
  • Glaze:
  • 1/2 cup Honey
  • 1 Tablespoon Cider Vinegar
Instructions
  1. Combine the rub spices in bowl and mix well.
  2. Use kitchen shears to trim off any excess fat from the chicken pieces. Pat dry. Drizzle oil over chicken and rub in with your hands to lightly coat all the pieces. Then toss chicken with the spice rub to coat all sides well. Use your hands and get in there! Grill chicken for 3-5 minutes on each side, until cooked through.
  3. While chicken is cooking, warm honey in the microwave so it's not so thick. Add the vinegar and combine well. Reserve 2 Tablespoons of the honey glaze for later after the chicken has cooked to pour on right before serving. Take the rest and brush on chicken (both sides) in the final moments of grilling.
  4. I'm gonna warn you that this can make a hot mess, literally. It's sugar, and it's gonna drip. But the smelly smoke is worth it for a minute or two. Just leave your grill on for a few minutes after the chicken is done to burn off any excess glaze. It's totally worth it once you taste this stuff.
  5. If you don't have a bbq, try it on an indoor grill pan or use your broiler. Just be sure to open a window in case you burn your glaze!

Computer rays are harmful to facial skin !





Skin, especially of the dry type, gets easily dehydrated, loses its elasticity and strength. Furthermore, the attack of harmful rays from daily computer use can lead to premature wrinkle formation.


German scientists have discovered that tomatoes and cabbage are excellent means for protecting the skin from the harmful rays. They recommend daily consumption of a combined weight of 500-700 grams of cabbage and tomatoes.


Their colleagues from the Netherlands advise that after working on the computer for prolonged periods of time, relaxing compresses should be done by placing a towel dipped in a solution of mineral salts or red cedar over the face for 2 minutes.


Chinese doctors recommend drinking a few sips of water every half hour in order to refresh the face while working on the computer. Lemon or grapefruit juice can be added to the water for a stronger effect.

They also recommend drinking 300ml of fresh green tea every day, because it neutralizes the influence of the harmful computer rays.

Rubbing the skin of the face with a piece of fresh apple or frozen fruit juice also has a beneficial effect.

Japanese specialists advise placing potted cactus plants around the computer monitor, because they attract 50% of the radiation. Research results also show that cactus plants refresh dry air, supplying it with oxygen.

Canadian scientists are of the opinion that spraying water on the face is the best way to counteract the harmful effects of prolonged computer use. Simply spray your face with a spray bottle of mineral water or rub it with a wet tissue. If you are wearing makeup you can use deep hydration thermal spray, which will not only restore the natural moisture of your skin, but also fixates the makeup and makes it longer lasting.

Against dryness Lithuanian doctors recommend washing the skin with rye bread. Cover a piece of rye bread with hot water and when it cools strain. Use the water to wash your face several times throughout the day.

Stiff muscles in the hamstrings, lower back, buttocks and hips can cause lower back pain. If you Stretch regularly, that will loosen this muscle and also increases the strength and endurance that helps prevent from injuries and pain in the future.
  • Improves cardiovascular health
Stretching is also considered to be the best exercise for your cardiovascular health. It helps to lower blood pressure, increases lung capacity and improves artery function.
  • Improves posture
Since stretching strengthens your spine and almost all muscles, it improves the posture of your body and you will more confident while facing the public.
Most of the people have a misconception, they think that stretching is the first one to perform before starting the workouts. You have to do at least 5-10 minutes warm ups before stretching. Your muscles will be trained to face the challenges of stretching through warm ups. Now you can do stretching. Never forget to stretch before and after workout. It is very important to avoid injuries. To reap most of the benefits of stretching, always make sure that you are doing proper in proper form and in right time. Stretching should target your hips,  thighs, calves, back, ankles, shoulders, arms and neck. Bridging, knee stirs, calf stretch, rotating the necks, touching the toes, alternate leg touch, shoulder shrugs, wall touches are the major stretching exercises that target these areas. There is no need to stretch till you feel pain in your muscles. You have to stop stretching before that. Everyone can stretch, regardless of their flexibility, age or gender. Whether you exercise or not, try to make the stretching exercises part of your daily routine. It does not have to involve a huge time  or commitment to do those exercises, but stretching can give you unbelievable results!

Green apple for youthful skin

Green apples are rich in minerals (calcium, potassium, phosphorus, sodium, iron, etc.) and vitamins (B vitamins, vitamins C, E, PP, folic acid, etc.). When used cosmetically, they make the skin youthful and improve its elasticity. They successfully neutralize free radicals thanks to the flavonoids and polyphenols they contain. Green apples are a great anti-oxidant.

Green apple mask for normal skin type

Combine 2 tablespoons of shredded green apple with 1 teaspoon of corn starch and 1 egg white, beaten into foam. Apply mixture to face and neck. Rinse in 15 minutes with cool water.

Green apple mask for dry skin

You will need:
100gr of green apples
1 teaspoon of olive oil
1 teaspoon of milk
Wash, core and shred apples on a plastic grater. Mix with milk and olive oil. Apply mask to a clean and dry face and neck area. Rinse away in 20 minutes with cool water.

Green apple mask for oily skin type
Ingredients:
1 tablespoon of blended cooked green apple puree
1 egg, beaten
Combine ingredients and apply mixture to clean, dry face and neck. Remove in 15 to 20 minutes with a cotton ball dipped in warm water. This mask is suitable for winter weather.

Healthy Recipe !




Zucchini Pasta with Shrimps and Cherry Tomato Dressing

When the carb cravings hit, it is hard to resist. But part of our eating experience is in the visuals, and this mock-pasta made of thin strips of zucchini will be perfect for those who are looking for a healthy alternative to the fattening calorie laden pasta.

Zucchini has been long hailed as one of the best sources of potassium, and it is only about 33 calories every 100 gm. Sliced thinly, they can easily be dressed with something rich in Vitamin C and proteins. This recipe is a fantastic entrée dish and easily serves two to four people.

Ingredients:

  • 2 zucchinis
  • 12 prawns, shelled and deveined
  • 8 cherry tomatoes, halved
  • 1 teaspoon prepared mustard
  • 1 tablespoon white wine or sherry vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon parsley leaves
  • Salt to taste
  • Black pepper powder to taste
Procedure:
Cook the prawns in a bit of water till cooked. Once done, remove and cool completely. Peel the zucchinis and then, using a sharp peeler, make lengthwise strips to resemble fettuccini or spaghetti. Soak them it in cold water and then drain off the water. This will make the zucchini more pliable and it will resemble actual pasta a lot more.

Arrange the zucchini on a serving plate, and then cover with the prawns and cherry tomatoes. Combine the mustard, vinegar, olive oil, parsley and pepper together. Season with a bit of salt, and drizzle it over the zucchini, tomatoes and shrimps. Serve cold or at room temperature.
The key here is the beauty of the presentation. If you are peeling the zucchini, make sure the cuts are even. The recipe can also be made with grilled prawns, marinated in a bit of oil, lemon juice and cayenne pepper, and the flavors of the zucchini and prawns work wonderfully together in the recipe.

Ben Affleck fans were all agog when the actor announced he'd be spending no more than $1.50 a day for food. Affleck and other celebrities (and ordinary citizens, too) will tighten their belts Monday through Friday this week as part of Live Below the Line, an initiative designed to raise awareness of global hunger and poverty.

The challenge is simple: Agree to spend no more than $1.50 on your daily grub from April 29 to May 3. That figure represents "
the accepted global figure used to define extreme poverty," according to The Global Poverty Project, which created the challenge.

The cutback is also designed goal is to raise money for global hunger and poverty programs. Participants can collect pledges or donate on their own.

Even if you don't opt to join in, you could use this as a reality check for your own grocery bills.

Think of it as boot camp for your food bucks, or a fire drill for your finances. After all, food is the most bendable place in the average budget. Knowing that you could eat on much less than you're spending now would mean a little breathing room if your finances suddenly go south (e.g., layoff or illness).
